St.
Andrew’s Choir - Call 908 464-4875 for
more information.
Minister of Music, Howard Dreizler
Music is very important to the liturgy
and the Eucharistic celebration at St. Andrew's Church.
Both Sunday services feature music. At the 10:00 service
our dedicated choir of some twelve to fifteen voices
leads the congregation in singing Christian hymns,
the sung parts of the liturgy, the weekly psalm and
one or more anthems. The choir is dedicated to making
music a vibrant part of the weekly worship experience
and deepen our community fellowship.
The choir also presents special
programs during the year, the most notable being our
choir concerts in March. Past concerts included sacred
works by Mozart, Beethoven, Rutter, Haydn, Handel, Schubert,
Lauridsen, Mendelssohn, Faure, Pergolesi and Vivaldi.
We will be on hiatus in 2007, but hope to resume
this tradition in the years to come.
A portion of the choir expenses
is offset by contributions to the Friends of St. Andrew's
Music. Funds received are used to support the varied
music program and activities throughout the year.
The choir would welcome additional
singers to their musical family. The current members
are a great group of people and we have a number of
fun community and church activities in addition to
the hard work. We would be pleased to have a chance
to expand our membership. If you are interested in
joining, or even exploring membership, please see
the Minister of Music, Howard Dreizler, or any choir
member. You may also send email to
music@standrewschurch.org

Brotherhood of St.
Andrew -
Call 908 464-4875 for more information.
The Brotherhood is an
international ministry of men within the Anglican
Communion that was incorporated by an Act of the U.
S. Congress, signed May 30, 1908 by President
Theodore Roosevelt. That Act states, “The sole
object of said corporation shall be the spread of
Christ’s Kingdom among men.” Any baptized Christian
may become a member of the Brotherhood and it is the
counterpart to Daughters of the King.
In 2004 a Chapter was formed at our Parish, one of
four Chapters in the Diocese. We have had five
meetings in all, two of which were organizational.
We meet monthly for the express purpose of prayer,
study, and service. Presently we are fourteen
members strong and growing. Our last breakfast
meeting event attracted approximately 30 individuals
and two men became members.
To date we have undertaken the painting of the
Sacristy Hall, the upstairs hall, and the
foyer/vestibule at the entrance to the Blue Door. We
are working with other Chapter representatives to
begin forming an Assembly that would be only the
fourth Assembly in our Priory, covering three states
and six Dioceses.
We anticipate undertaking a study of James Hillman’s
book “The Force of Character and the Lasting Life,”
in 2005 and welcome all men who are interested in
deepening their spiritual life with other men.
